The food quality, temperature (tepid - not hot like it should be) has diminished including time to receive our meals. Have gone to Al Dente for many years and have enjoyed the food, ambience and food ambience until the last two visits.

The dinners before tip came out to about $ 60 per person. It was nice to find a bar that could make a real Manhattan cocktail (how can something so simple be a lost art in so many Palm Springs establishments).

I had the special sautéed Mahi Mahi with potatoes and spinach which was excellent. This is straight forward classic Italian dishes but with three nightly specials added in. It took a while for us to find out that there was a whole second page of entrees we had missed. The host who greeted us was very gracious and checked back on us frequently. There appears to be a small front patio with heaters too. inside in what is a small intimate space which had a certain charm. It was a winter night so everybody was dining. We probably had written it off in the past due to its location. We had never eaten here, although this restaurant has been around forever in the heart of the tourist area of downtown Palm Springs.
